My Career in Gospel Music
The Early Days
As a teenager I formed a small gospel band with my friends from our church in Benin City, Nigeria. Our popularity grew so rapidly by word-of-mouth, that before long we were playing and singing several times a week in both Benin City and Lagos, including gigs for the Nigerian Army. As a result of our exposure to a wider national audience with a number of TV appearances, we received invitations to come and play at various venues in Europe. Following one such performance in Munich I decided to make Germany my new home.
Life In Germany

Once settled in my new home I began to perform regularly at the Piano Bar in the Hotel Hafen in Hamburg, where I still continue to perform. It's a great place to meet other musicians and to try out new songs on an audience. I still continue to sing in gospel choirs in the church and to attend gospel concerts. In fact it was the result of attending a gospel concert that I caught the attention of Big Mama. Owing to my enthusiastic accompaniment of her band she came down into the audience and handed me the microphone! Shortly afterwards I was asked me to join Big Mama and the Golden Six with whom I now perform regularly.
